CORONAVIRUS UPDATE (APRIL 2020)
Dear Friends - we are in regular contact with the Arafehs (who arrived in Bristol in October 2019) to make sure that they are updated on government advice and the national situation and also of course to check that they are bearing up okay. Indeed there is evidence from elsewhere of the resilence of refugees in coping with the sort of situation that we are all facing at the moment. As is so often the case, our Syrian friends have so much to offer for all of us and our society - their new society.
In response to our latest WhatsApp, the Arafehs sent us back a lovely photograph they had taken of the four of them. We wanted to share it with you straight away.
We do hope you too are all bearing up. We see so many blessings in the current situation, horrible though it is. We do hope some of those blessings are also coming your way.
God bless, everyone. And please do not forget our Syrian refugee friends. Now they have been here for a year the CRSS is continuing to support the family informally after the first year as the Covid 19 pandemic has seriously limited our face to face to engagement with family and their ability to learn the English language and therefore their integration into the community.
Our next major activity is to help Mohamed and Ghania into employment. If anyone can help, in whatever way but best of all in offering suitable employment to one or both of the Arafeh parents, please do get in touch with us on chrismarybrennan@gmail.com.
You really will change lives.
